To make this simple egg cosy you will need a ball of Pima cotton or any DK cotton or wool, crochet hook size 4. You'll also need a tapestry needle (to sew the ends and the ears), a marker, a row counter.
I used Rowan Pima cotton, but any DK wool or cotton will do.
I made mine in pastels colours and light grey.
Note: I use the magic loop technique to start, if preferred you can chain 2 and then put the sts in second loop.
Gauge: 2 inches = 10sts - 9 rows
R1: magic loop sc 4 sts
R2: sc 2 in each sc around (8 sts)
R3: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 4 times (12 sts)

R5: *sc 3, 2 sc in the next sc*,rep 4 times (20 sts)

Fasten off and weave in end
