tropical and amazing

Monday and towards the end of the month! I can't believe February is almost over.

Yesterday we went to see the exhibition in Kew Gardens, it was a very pleasant
and interesting little break.
I'm not a fan of orchids, until I discover that some orchids actually have an amazing scent!
like the dendrochilum glumaceum which had a gorgeous scent of vanilla
and so there is an entire glass room that will trigger happy neurons!
My friend Cristina, made the installation for the mangroves: a little village on the water.
Anita said she would like to live in the little pink and blue house surrounded by water, me too!
In the last picture the Thames (actually the bit where the Kew Pier is), the little isle in the middle is quite amusing and the beach!?

20.2.12

spring is in the air

As the weather is changing, the materials I work with are changing too.
The woolly socks and scarves will go in the shop in september.
For this spring, linen socks and more.
Few crochet dolls are on the making too.
I'm also working on the printed pattern for 'le chat/les petits'
Have a good start of the week.

update 6/03/2013 *after a lot of thinking and disappointment for the copies sold around I decided not to print the pattern to make my crochet dolls.

from the corner

I brought my pelargonium inside during the frosty days and look: it's blossoming!

(Almost ready for a shop update... well, almost).

*The little up-cycled plate on the wall (with the triangles) comes from here.

10.2.12

super duper things

This brooch is from multi talented Louise.
I bought it a while ago and for some reason I was waiting to finish a cardi to show it to you but the cardi has become a neglected project.
Louise's blog and shop: I love her quirky creations, she's also a very lovely girl.

*We are recovering from a bad bug... slowly but surely!

Have a nice weekend and give yourself a hug (without bugs).

6.2.12

vitamin C

Vitamins are what I need now.
I noticed that in February I prefer yellow.
Carrot and sweet potato soup with sunflower and sesame seeds.
Socks and other knitted stuff will be in the shop.
Rays of sun around the home.
Renilde made a micro weaved carpet for our dolls house (at the moment is on the piano)
:)
//Forget the snow, if you have the chance, go and visit the Tropical extravaganza
Enjoy your week
ciao::

Update: blogger is going mad these days, again...sigh!
Things move around unexpectedly, fonts change and some stuff appear and disappear...
sorry about this :D

3.2.12

my new pillow

The  black&brown smyrna pillow is arrived!
and now it's on our wall above the piano.
Thank you Renilde.

Our living room faces north and it gets very little sunshine, but is not dark just has a diffuse light all over.
In the late afternoon we see glimpses of sun on the walls.

Have a good weekend!

1.2.12

keep knitting (and don't complaint)

{February started cold but sunny, outside a thin layer of ice cover everything.
It's -3C here today but this house is warm and I can't complaint :)
New items in the shop very soon.

New (for me) blog love: here and here
